Kisses For your Soul Series:: Movies: 6 Films that Shift your thinking

Heeey!!  Hope you are all good. Fall is here in full swing in the Washington, DC area……at least for now because  it could be 90 degrees again before you know it BUT I’m excited about the crisp air and beautiful foliage that comes along with autumn. With that, it also means spending more time indoors as the days get shorter. … no worries, though.. I will take advantage of that time re-watching a few movies I watched  this summer (yay  Netflix : -) )

These are 6 movies that I’d never seen before but were clearly law of attraction based and sort of elevated my way of thinking so I’m leaving them in my que to watch again on the cool rainy nights this fall.  { most of these are……… humm…….. sappy so if you don’t like films that make your heart stir, these are not for you but I liked them….. 🙂 }

Here they are: ( not in any particular order)

The Shift:  The Shift explores the intertwined lives of an overachieving businessman, a mother of two young children seeking her own expression in the world and a film director trying to make a name for himself . Starring Dr.  Wayne Dyer and  Portia de Rossi.  The Shift not only inspires, but also teaches us how to find the path to our spiritual purpose and therefore our greatest joy.

Peaceful Warrior:  The story is about a young gymnast Dan Millman and his struggle to make sense of his life in which he is successful but still unfulfilled.  Dan is leading his life in chase of a dream – to get a gold in the Olympics. He and his coach knows that he is the best, but still inside he too knows that something is missing. It was in one of his sleepless nights that he meets a petrol pump attender who changes his life – step by step. Socrates(as Dan calls him), the petrol pump attender teaches the guy to find his long lost love and dream.  This is almost a “Rocky IX” type movie with a wonderful happy ending.

The Celestine Prophecy:  Based on James Redfield’s worldwide best-selling novel, The Celestine Prophecy is a spiritual adventure film chronicling the discovery of ancient scrolls in the rainforests of Peru. The prophecy and its nine key insights predict a worldwide awakening, arising within all religious traditions, that moves humanity toward a deeper experience of spirituality.

Elizabethtown: After causing a loss of almost one billion dollars in his company, the shoe designer Drew Baylor decides to commit suicide. However, in the exact moment of his act of despair, he receives a phone call from his sister telling him that his beloved father had just died in Elizabethtown, and he should bring him back since his mother had problem with the relatives of his father. He travels in an empty red eye flight and meets the attendant Claire Colburn, who changes his view and perspective of life.

Just Wright: Leslie Wright is a straight-shooting physical therapist who gets the gig of a lifetime working with NBA All-Star Scott McKnight. All is going well until Leslie finds herself falling for Scott, forcing her to choose between the gig and the tug-of-war inside her heart. Oblivious to her romantic overtures, McKnight is instead drawn to the affections of Leslie’s childhood friend Morgan, who has her sights set on being an NBA trophy wife. Is Leslie destined to play the role of “best friend” forever or will Scott finally see that what he always wanted is right in front of him?

PollyAnna:  Hayley Mills received a special Academy Award(R) for her performance as Pollyanna in this timeless Walt Disney tapestry of small-town Americana. Here you’ll meet Pollyanna, the orphan who brings sunshine into the lives of everyone she meets. But her Aunt Polly (Jane Wyman) is too concerned with appearances, propriety, and local politics to appreciate her effervescent niece. It isn’t until the town almost loses their “Glad Girl” that Aunt Polly realizes the power of love and lightheartedness. Featuring an impressive all-star cast and a story filled with fun, laughter, and tears, POLLYANNA will inspire your entire family and prove that the art of positive thinking is just as delightful today as it was at the turn of the century!

I hope you find these as enjoyable as I did. What movies have you seen lately that were positive and inspiring? Let me know! 🙂

Enjoy Your Journeys. ~ Kristi
